: The pictures in the scratch builders archive are great.
: I have been using this site, and the book "Titanic, an
: illustrated history". That book is kind of pricey ($30.00)
: but it is well worth it if you are trying to do this
: from raw materials and need to know how the ship is
: layed out. I will be sending some pics to this site as
: soon as I am completed, or sooner. All I have left is the
: rest of the stringing, the benches on the stern, and the
: lifeboats.
*** Dear Jason,
I personally Would appreciate this VERY much. I have been working with Andy Roddis at Harland & Wolff and although they are trying their best to accomodate my inquiries they are flooded to the nines with orders and have had to take on extra help. According to what he has to say thier Olympic/TITANIC Lines hull plans are all anyone would need for scratch building the hull completely and accurately but I for one would feel much better in being able to conduct further research in the way of detail illustrations, tech data etc. not addressed as such in the plans. BTW the plans are being offered up @ 250-UK pounds. The subject at hand here will be a 15' working model and MUST be 100% accurate since there will be real life functionality to consider. The miniture reciprocating engines will probably be green sand cast from wood patterns and the machining of all the working components will be fairly critical. The project will be, as near as absolutely possible, a scaled down version of the actual, living, breathing TITANIC. This will most likely be a life's work and should I pass on before it's completion I would only hope that I could find one who could and would take it to completion.
Again I sincerely wish to thank you for your contribution to Sean's site and I am sure that all here will greatly benefit by it.
All good things to you sir.
