If you have read the posts that Sean references, you can see that the "where" of the pipe has been thoroughly covered. I have yet to read any authoritative explanation of "what" was its specific function.

: There is a pipe that runs down each side, just under the overhang between A deck and B deck. Several photos, such as the Southampton boarding scene clearly show it, with flanges periodically. It appears to turn downward near the front of B deck. 'Any idea what it was for?
