So far I've done the basic paintwork on the hull...colors are as follows: Anti-fouling red is Duplicolor Red Oxide Primer. The Black is a mixture of Testor's Semi-gloss Black-12pts. Gunmetal-5pts. and Steel-4pts. The superstructure is painted Testor's RLM 21 White with $ drops of Italian sand added.Paintwork is airbrushed with a Badger 150, medium tip. The shear stripe is Testor's Insignia Yellow which I pulled by hand using a #1 Kafka scroll striping brush. Well deck planking was first airbrushed with a cloud coat of Italian Sand to slightly darken the topcoat of Testor's U.S. Army/Marines sand.....when dry, the raised plank lines were drybrushed with darkened italian sand..Anti-fouling paint,.....or "Red Lead" as I believe it was called.....in the wall decks is the same paint as below the waterline....Well deck canvas hatch covers are camoflage gray.....Please excuse the poor quality of my pics, but my camera is a real POS......

Your paintwork is very clean, but just curious -- did you consult the Paint Reference on this site? The lower Well Deck dadoes were not the same color as the antifouling.

Well...I did consult it,but much to my dismay I had painted it about a week and a half before I found this site......so it's too late to change it now.....I'm pretty sure that anyone who is anything short of an expert on this vessel isn't going to know the difference anyway.

I installed the 2nd class library walls, and painted the planking and hatches on the aft end of A? Deck, after fitting strip styrene to both outer edges of the deck.....the fit was so bad you could see the windows below it, now it's nice & tight...

Here's a couple of new pics......Preliminary paintwork and assembly on the poop deck......it is now installed...Detail work has begun in the stern well deck. I've scratchbuilt limber boards from strip styrene and added support struts to the bulwarks on the starboard side....

That look like a very good paintjob, sir. If you only would be able to take some clearer pictures to show it. But I am sure this will be a fine looking model.

MLOGAN,

Go to this link:

http://download.cnet.com/Image-Resizer-Powertoy-for-Windows-XP/3000-18487_4-10905400.html

It's a free download that plugs into windows for resizing photos to screen size.

Simply right click on a photo in MY PICTURES and a menu pops up, choose the size You need and that's it.

Hope this helps,

Bob Wescott

Mlogan, what's your first name again?

If I understand you, you want to buy a new camera to take lower resolution photos? That doesn't make sense. Why not just look for some free or inexpensive software that can resize your photos smaller?

I did not say anything about buying a lower resolution camera sir...and I would happily download a resizer if my computer would allow me to do so, but it is contrary...much like it's owner. Since I not going to purchase a new computer......I'll purchase a better camera than what I own now, but not as good as the one I have at work which photographs in Megabytes...which is too big to download to this forum.( 999 KB....Right?)As I have stated in previous posts....I'm not a computer person.......the fact that I figured out how to post a pic here at all, is a miracle to me.....I'm much better at models then I am at High-tech stuff.....

Support struts are installed on the aft welldeck bulwarks..the 2nd class entry has been assembled, detail painted and installed. The forward well deck aft bulkhead had to be modified.....the handrail didn't matchup to the handrails on the sides. I added a thin strip of strene to the bottom of the bulkhead to lift it to the correct height.I also modified the rear arch in the forward welldeck cutouts as they terminated too far forward of the aft bulkhead....I did that with a #11 x-acto blade. I also added the first photo-etched part....the little gate in the bulkhead wall.....the sign is handpainted directly onto the bulkhead next to the gate with my 3i Kafka brush.

Got all the bollards painted and attached to the fore and aft well decks....I painted them a mixture of flat black and steel so they'd have a graphite cast to them. The electric winches are painted and attached to their places in the well decks. They are painted Model Master Euro-1 Dk. Green, with black drums. I also assembled one of the photo-etched benches and the staircase for the forward well deck...painted them and attached them just to see how much of a problem they would be......they were'nt too bad, I only held my breath a few times.....

Nicely done, sir! Your winch color appears to be an excellent choice - possibly better than the ModelMaster color I have in the Paint Reference. Would like to see a closeup or two under natural light eventually.

By the way, when you're posting photos, can you please check the box in the Upload window that allows the photos to display in your post? Saves having to open each photo individually. (That gets annoying after a while.)

Thanks

Thank You Kindly Sir......I'll be posting more pics when I make some meaningful progress.....been kinda busy with a client's commission. Generally that back-burners my personal projects, so I haven't had much opportunity to work on TITANIC.....That will soon change as I get closer to completing the other work...
