#45342, "Titanic's First Master"

I have read that Capt Haddock was the Titanic's first Master. The story then goes that Haddock was relived for the trials by Smith who then took her to Southampton?

I have also read that Haddock stood by her completion, Smith took her on trials, then Haddock took her to Southampton. Meanwhile Smith went home I assume by ferry and train for a break. If that was the case who was in command of Olympic?

For the sake of the Titanic story I guess people are only interested in who was Master for the Maiden Voyage, but the above stories are a bit confusing, so if anyone knows.....
