Dear Titanic enthusiasts, I don't know where to post this question, so please bear with me. I hope someone can help. I am the fundraiser for a 28-year-old non-profit agency in Pittsburgh, PA which assists very low-income single parent families in which the parent is completing school in order to be self-sufficient. The last few years have been tough economically for our agency, and so we are pleased to have been given a Titanic model - not 23 ft long, but large nevertheless (almost 4 ft). We have no knowledge of ship models, but would like to turn this into funds with which to buy groceries and milk for the 0 to 5 year old children we take care of. I see there is a TRMA forum for buying and selling, but am not knowledgeable about what would be a fair price to ask. The replica appears to have been handmade, primarily of wood, and belonged to a now deceased entreprenuer who bought it about 10 years ago to display in the pilot house of his yacht; no further information is available. If any kind TRMA member has advice for us, please contact me at mjackson@angelsplacepgh.org - thanks!
