#45804, "RE: Titanic: The Final Word with James Cameron..... What do you think?" In response to In response to 9
I have to agree with Tad's posts. I respect the work that this team put into trying to obtain some further answers; from an outside 'general public' point of view, there were moments when it was frustrating not to see how certain conclusions were reached, as well. And there were a few details of their final sequence which I do question based on what we turned up when we studied the survivor accounts. That said, I think they're on the leading edge in many respects, and I also like their willingness to re-asses previous conclusions based on new information.
I agree entirely with Tad on the rocket question. There is no way of knowing for sure what those detonators on the sea floor were; since they're all in their box on the sea floor, there is one thing we can say with certainty: none of those detonators were used that night. To conclude that so many witnesses are wrong in what they said they saw about the color of the rockets based on a box of detonators that weren't used seems like a bit of a stretch.
On the whole, however, I think they were able to shed some very good light on some of the questions that have surrounded the sinking - especially how certain elements of the damage patterns visible on the wreck may have come to be, and how certain pieces of wreckage ended up where they did.
