Yes the morse code conversation really is dramatic isn't it? It is the only commentary we have of the disaster which actually happened in real time. It's the immediacy of it - it's talking about it in the present tense - which is so confronting about it. And the language is quite remarkable 'Hit a berg, going down at the bow, old man". Amazing that in the panic of the moment Phillips and the others still kept up some of their banter.
