Hi Nathan~

-haven't messed with acrylics as the base coats for my models, though they sure do come in handy for washes over dried flat-satin enamels!
The color, based on the cap (never a good indicator), seems as though it might work, but for the best results, I'd recommend going with the enamels -
I've found Art's combo to be spot on when it comes to "liner black" for 1/350 scale and smaller.
It isn't expensive - why not purchase it, experiment and see what you get?
