Given how long White Star has been gone, I take it you are talking grandfather or older history here. http://www.shipsnostalgia.com/ Forums/Lost Contact & Research/ Maritime Family History Research might be a help. I have seen mentions in that site of members locating British sources for very old seamen's records and sometimes volunteering to look them up in The National Archives/Board of Trade records for readers. The basic seaman's record of ships and dates seems to be locatable if you can give a starting point.
