Look very closely at that photo -- do you see anything unusual about the ship's name and port of registry on her stern? They have been touched up by hand (what other way was there to do this in 1913?) in order to make letters stand out and be more legible. The job is very much neater than what was done to a few of Titanic's pre-launch photos, but I'm sure the intentions were the same!
