Well I might as well go with the minicraft 1/350 scale cause $65 is a fair price for that size model which measures in at right at 30 1/4 inches in length. In 200 scale that would be almost 60 inches. Sure its nearly 30 inches longer which makes it nearly double the size but when you think about it 1/200 to 1/350 is not that big of a gap only 1/150 ratio difference. To me that is not that big of a ratio gap change such as say a 1/750 Titanic to a 1/400 Titanic. Yet the price difference between a 1/750 and 1/400 Titanic isn't double nor triple the cost to upgrade to the larger 1/400 scale.
In the end I could think of a lot better things to spend money on than dropping $300 on a hunk of plastic reguardless of what the model is. Especially considering I can get a smaller just as detailed Titanic with PE for $67 and use the money saved on the 1/200 scale to be put towards other models.
Just a personal preference and in my eyes modeling has gotten away from a affordable hobby of yesterday to a expensive hobby for the so called rich just like all other hobbies out there.
