#55719, "A question for Mr. Braunschweiger"
Tue Jan-09-18 07:24 AMby GRAwolf

Mr. Braunschweiger:

I have studied your Cherbourg Titanic model site with great enthusiasm. The level of detail you attained is awe inspiring, and has inspired me to attempt some finer detailing on my own model. To this end, i have a question: what diameter brass rod did you use for your capstans, and what was their finish size? I have tried to replicate your results with plastic tube and rod, but have been less than satisfied with the finished product. And I have tried to estimate their size by comparing them to the kit capstans and your photo, but they still do not look right.

I have no real expectation that you will actually answer my curiosity, but one can always hope....

Regards, Gary Ayers
