The registry mark, however, puts the date at 1894-95. Also, T & R Boote of England produced a pattern at around this time called the Lucania pattern, which was used on dinner services. I don't know if this toilet bowl is also by Boote, but I do know that the date makes it unlikely to have been used on the ship.
I wrote to the seller to explain, and he thanked me and changed the title of the auction to what it is now. I guess anyone owning this item can be forgiven for assuming it was actually off the ship itself.
I don't think Cunard or other shipping companies put the names of the vessels on items like this? I know they didn't put it on the dinner services.
