That's a very good link Ralph. Clicking the word navyphone in the first sentence at the top of the page leads to a broader history and mentions that the 2466 first appeared with the Orion of 1910. Pursuing the older models leads to a round shape however. Nonetheless the mentions of weather exposure troubles with various phones makes me wonder if the 3 protrusions in your picture are simply 2 hinges and a knob on a cast door. In Jason's picture it may be background objects that are making it hard to decide on this.
