Dear Mr. Braunschweiger,
Please, please tell me how I can purchase a copy of the wonderful "Titanic--Birth of a Legend" preferably DVD format.
I was so excited to see it on the Discovery Channel this weekend. You see, my mother always related the fact that two of her brothers, Thomas and Daniel Martin, were workers in the Harland and Wolff shipyard when the Titanic was built!! I called my cousin Kathleen Martin to ask her brother Dan if he recalled anything his Dad told him about it all. Kathleen said that her Dad had told Dan (Jr) that he was a "journeyman plumber" in the shipyard and had been asked to be on the ship's crew, but refused because he was married to my Aunt Annie and they had planned to come to America instead. So he was saved from the tragedy of the other eight workmen. My mother who was almost 12 years old when the Titanic sank said she recalled the newsboys running through the streets of Belfast announcing the dreadful event.
Now, I have to get in touch with my cousin Thomas (Jr) to find out what he heard from his own father. Both of my Uncles Dan and Tommy came to America, landing in Philadelphia I think, and continued fine careers in residential and commercial plumbing. When I was a little girl, the Martin families sometimes visited us on our NJ dairy farm during the Great Depression and WWII, as well as the families of some of my mother's other siblings, seven of whom emigrated to America. One, Aunt Mary, remained in Ireland, and one, Uncle Owen, emigrated to England.
Could you tell me the cost of TWO DVDs of "Titanic--Birth of a Legend" plus shipping? I'd love to send copies to my first cousins Kathleen and Thomas (Jr). Thank you for helping me in this search.
P.s. I also have an e-mail:
mgihm@hotmail.com" target="_blank">smgihm@hotmail.com
if you can respond to me with both addresses. I most often read the hotmail address.
I do not have a credit card, but if you would accept a check from the bank of our religious order, I could pay you that way. I often pay by US Postal money order, but if you're not in the USA, I don't know if the USPS MO can be cashed outside the US.
Gratefully,
Sr. Marguerite Green

P.s. I was not able to videotape the program when it was broadcast as you suggested.
