#5126, "Jason King - 1:100 Scratchbuild Titanic (Update 12) - Oct 11 - Funnels completed"
I have just finished my funnels and would like to show you some progress photos. I built a frame and covered it in 0.6mm veneer then covered that with .025mm styrene once the rivet pattetn had been added. Steam/water pipes are rod and the whistles are brass.
The buff colour I settled for was a mix of Model Master British Gulf armor light stone, Humbrol matt white and chrome yellow. The colour i think keeps the scale of the model looking right and the whole ship has a matt look to it. The buff looks very different under different light sources and in these photos it show a yellowy hue which is different when viewed in the flesh in day light.I will try and get some outside photos when the weather improves and i can muster some volunteers to help me lift the model as it is putting on some weight.
Next job is the deck equipment, vents, railings etc. Then the lifeboats & davits then finally the masts and rigging.
