At least that is what it feels like. It has taken me exactly five years (!) but a few days ago my newest 1/350 Titanic model was finally finished. The model was put on hold for three of the five years and stood looking depressed while I did other things. Now she can finally be proudly displayed once I get the display case done.
This model is what I would like to call "based" on the 1/350 Minicraft kit. I say based because most or at least a huge part of this model is built from scratch. The original kit hull was cut down to C-deck, so all the white area on the superstructure above the yellow line is made from scratch. All the deckhouses, bulkheads, bridge front and decks are also new.
The wooden decks are from Scaledecks and is strongly recommended! They make the decks really stand out and can be ordered in different colors and scales. These decks was ordered before Scaledecks started producing ready to install Titanic deck sets.
The different detailing was made using different types of styrene. All the different 1/350 PE brass sets were used.
I really hope you enjoy the photos. Since I am not willing to pay hundreds of dollars for photobucket I will have to reduce the size of them to stamp-size and split the photos up in different posts in this thread.
Please feel free to ask me any questions about the model and I will answer as good as I can.
