#459, "RE: RMS Queen Mary Revell model" In response to In response to 0 Wed Nov-18-15 03:24 AMby Matt OBrien
You might want to start out by purchasing the actual kit you want built and then shipping it to whomever is building it. This way you are in control of the prices right from the start. There IS a photo-etch detail set for this model, but it will add to your overall expense.
I'm assuming that you are looking for the original Queen Mary.....not the Queen Mary 2? Both are made by Revell. I think the Queen Mary kit is available only in 1/570 scale. The QM2 goes as small as 1/1200..
If you can provide your potential model builder the parts you want, it would keep your costs down and also show your builder that you want to be engaged in the build process. Leaving it up to the builder to hunt down all the parts necessary might prove to be a burden on the builder (and drive the cost up beyond what you want to pay).
