#55686, "High-resolution Olympic photos at Library of Congress"

Hi all,

I stumbled across some new scans at the Library of Congress site, at http://www.loc.gov/pictures/search/?q=rau%20olympic&st=gallery (the sepia-coloured images are the new ones).

These are from the W.H. Rau collection, and most of us have seen them before, but not at this resolution. The scans are huge (over 400 Mb each if you download the TIFF files) and rivet counters will have much to study.

Note that the TIFF images are uncompressed. If you re-save the images as compressed TIFFs the file size will be roughly halved, and if you save as JPEG they will be smaller still, depending on your compression settings.

Regards,
Ralph
