Here are some updates on my new 1/350 scale HMHS Britannic. It is about 75% completed. I was unhappy with my first go at this model since it was a completed Titanic model, which was stripped and altered after-the-fact. That model had to be sent to the scrap yard to give up the Brass conversion set, and I created all new decking from scratch, so this model is much cleaner. The forcastle deck is scratch-made, along with the new boat racks, hatches, and intake vents. The fiddly vents even have a shaft leading downward below the grating. I have also corrected many of my previous models mistakes to have a better representation model.

Hi Mark!

I bought this Brass 1/350 Britannic conversion set about ten years ago. I'm not up to speed on if these are available. I know for the longest time GMM stopped producing these. I still have some un-used brass gantry davits left from this kit, which I don't want to throw in the trash but haven't decided what to do with yet.

Chris -

Looking good so far! A very nice and clean build. I have always loved your Britannic models. I remember using your first model as a reference for my first Britannic wreck several years ago.

Best regards,

- Morten

Well Peter Davies Garner was going to make them, but as since he left the forum who knows what will result. I'd like to get a set of the Britannic sets myself. Two in fact. One for RMS Britannic and the HMHS wreck.

Chris, we'll need some new photos to replace these!

Chris:

Your Britannic is looking awesome.

Could you please list out the paints that you are using to paint your Britannic. I would like to know so if I decide to try one of these 1/350 Titanic conversions I will have that information.

Thanks,

Mark Blankenburg

My 1/350 Britannic is getting close to completion. I just completed the custom boat racks, davits, funnel rigging, custom vent cover boxes, and motor houses. I am using Flat White, Military Brown for 'Well-Deck Dado', Deep Yellow for the Funnels and Top Tier equipment, Green Zinc Chrom and Guards Red for the Stripe and Crosses. I'll upload some updated photos ASAP. I am also woking on a 1/350 scale RMS TITANIC, with all custom decking and expansion joints (just as I did with this new Britannic model). I'll post photos of those as well soon.

-Thanks all.
-Chris

Did you need extra brass rail, ladder, and stair sets for Britannic? She does have more than on her sisters. Especially if you model her RMS version.

Hi Chris,

As I currently have 2 Britannic models under construction - an RMS in 1:350 scale and an HMHS in 1:400 scale, can I ask if you have any new photos of your newest HMHS Britannic model? The photos of your original one are proving an invaluable reference for mine, so many thanks for those.

Also, could you please share your construction details for the boat racks, as I having trouble working out exactly what they looked like in each location?

Many thanks,

Chris

She looks stunning! Before i joined TRMA I saw this page and scrapped my old 1/350 Britannic (which was a mess) and made a much cleaner version based on the models here. I was not able to find any brass parts, so i improvised with extra cargo cranes for the girder davits, which doesn't look too bad. i would love to see her when she's completed!
