FOR SALE ARE MY TWO MUSEUM QUALITY TITANIC MODELS. SCALE 1:100 – 8FT, 11in 1912 MAIDEN VOYAGE MODEL & 1985 WRECK DISCOVERY MODEL
BOTH ARE SCRATCH BUILT BY MYSELF USING THE HAHN PLANS TAKING OVER THREE YEARS TO COMPLETE. THE MODELS CONTAIN HIGHLY ACCURATE DETAILING WITH A HUGE ATTENTION TO DETAIL UTILISING OVER 20 YEARS OF STUDY & VAST REFERENCE SOURCES. A GREAT DEAL OF ASSISTANCE WAS GAINED FROM THIS EXCELLENT WEBSITE
THE MATERIALS USED INCLUDE WOOD, METAL AND PLASTIC AND ENSURE A SOLID CONSTRUCTION. THE MODELS WERE COMPLETED FOUR YEARS AGO AND HAVE BEEN CONTAINED IN A DUST FREE DISPLAY CASE.
RMS TITANIC INC. WHO HOLD THE EXHIBITIONS OF TITANIC ARTIFACTS EXPRESSED INTEREST IN BUYING THE MODEL IN 2005 AGO BUT MY RELUCTANCE TO SELL THEM AT THE TIME AND THE SCALE OF THE MODEL PREVENTED THIS FROM HAPPENING.
Sorry for the delay in contacting you. It seems as though your model is to large for the space that the exhibition designers have allocated for the Model.
I must apologize for this and do hope there will be an opportunity to work together in the future.
Arnie Geller (Email from RMS Titanic INC.)
I ENJOYED CONSTRUCTING THE MODELS AND HAVE EQUALLY ENJOYED THE PLEASURE OF OWNING THEM, TOGETHER WITH THE POSITIVE REMARKS RECEIVED FROM THOSE WHO HAVE SEEN THEM. BUT THE TIME HAS COME TO SEE IF A NEW HOME MAY BE FOUND FOR THEM SO OTHER PEOPLE INTERESTED IN THE TITANIC MAY HOPEFULLY ENJOY THEM.
THE CASE WILL NEED TO BE DISMANTLED TO ENABLE THE MODELS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE ROOM IN MY HOUSE FOR TRANSPORT. THE CASE WILL BE INCLUDED IF REQUIRED BUT WILL REQUIRE REFIXING.

Thanks for your kind words. The lighted model was the waterline version i built about 14 years ago. I no longer own it but i will see if i can find some 'lighted' pictures and scan them in for you on a different forum.

After several months and many different interested parties and false leads I have finally sold my two models.
They were purchased by RMS Titanic Inc. who will be displaying them at there new artifact exhibiton at the City West Event Centre, Saggart, Dublin, Ireland. They were collected yesterday and after all the work and time I invested in them it was an emotional moment to finally see them leave.
The exhibition starts on 19th Dec 2009 and should run for about 6 months so I think a trip to Dublin is on the cards for the New Year too see the models on display and to consume excessive volumes of Guinness - joy.
Then next year the work begins - a new improved scratchbuilt 1:100 will commence as since those models were completed I have learnt a lot more and techniques can be improved on.
Best to do it before the eyesight fails, arthritis sets in or I have a mental breakdown.

Jason , I don't know wether to congratulate you on the sale or send condolences. I am sure you received good money for the models , however after all that effort and Love you must in some way have felt like a part of you was being removed as well. I just felt I had to say so. All the best. Sincerely, Bill Young

Yes it was very difficult to see them leave, almost like a bereavement, but I had made my mind up. The nice thing is that many people will get to enjoy them as opposed to the occasional man coming to read the gas meter!
The main thing is it gives me another opportunity to begin a new model next year and it is the inspiration of many on this site who give me the drive together with all the additional knowledge we learn here that will help make it even more detailed and accurate.
