#444, "need a large model in fiberglass"

Hi All.
I am an artist doing a project at the upcoming Venice Biennial and I am looking for a durable model of the Titanic for an outdoor installation project, preferably in fiberglass.
Any thoughts very very welcome. I am thinking 2.5 to 3m in length.
A very serious request. Please contact.
Thanks!

The problem you will have with models made by serious scale modelers is your description of needing it for an outdoor installation. That's just not the way modelers plan their models. You also didn't specify any deadline. Any halfway accurate model of the size you specify takes on the order of years to build. This might be something for an artist to do who isn't overly concerned about accuracy.

Hi Doug

There is a semi-kit model available which when built, would be about 1.9m long. It does not come cheap - probably for the parts alone you're looking at a couple of thousand euros.

I suppose one could be built with low detail, which would save on time and money, but you would need someone knowledgeable of the ship, and also with modelling skills, to build it. I reckon at the level of detail you need, a few weeks work would be required.

Hope this helps a bit.
